Foolproof Bone Broth Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 lbs Bison Bones
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (to extract nutrients)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, or bay leaf)
  • 10-12 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the bones: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the bison bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes, turning once, to enhance their flavor.

  2. Simmer the broth: Add the roasted bones, vegetables, apple cider vinegar, and herbs to a large stockpot or slow cooker. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 12-24 hours, skimming any foam or fat that rises to the surface.

  3. Strain and store: Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve. Let it cool, then store it in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze it for long-term use.

  4. Enjoy: Use as a base for soups, stews, or as a warm, nutrient-packed drink on its own.
